I am at a loss as to where to begin asking questions about this version of the bible . A Pentecostal believer gave me a copy back in 1998. It had info as side notes i had never seen before (eg. pre adamite flood, Lucifer as ruler of earth before Adam. )

This specific bible was in the back of my suv when the suv was stolen, the bible was never recovered. I am wondering if this was Gods way of protecting me from false doctrines.

PLease correspond with me on this matter

    Sincerely

    Martin Tomeraasen

      Hi Marty:
Thank you for visiting our site.
Back in 1989 (or 1990) I purchased my first copy of the Dake Bible and also one for my mom. Later while attending Bible College my copy of the Dake Bible was stolen out of storage!

I know many of Dake’s supporters will disagree, but I’m glad you were not negatively influenced by your Dake Bible. It turned out that my Mom did not read her Dake’s very much either so she gave it to me a few years ago. Any of the quotations on this site from the Dake Bible were taken from the Bible she gave me. I’m glad it is an older version (print date of 1987) because Dake Publishing made some changes to the Dake Bible after Finis Dake died. Later I’ll be posting an article about Finis Dake and Racism (’30 reasons for segregation’ p. 159) that was removed in the newer versions after Dakes death.

Marty, you mentioned a couple of Dake’s teachings (pre-adamite flood, ….) that are interesting. While I believe all biblical teachings are important, there are many doctrines that Dake taught that I believe could affect a persons salvation. For example, I just finished an article on Dake’s distortion of the Trinity. Soon I hope to write some articles showing how Dake has corrupted every major Doctrine and teaching of who God is: every attribute of God such as his being all-knowing are denied and distorted by Dake.

On a side note, some of Dake’s followers have accused this site of being ‘anti-pentecostal.’ Since I graduated from a pentecostal college, and also have two degrees from a pentecostal seminary (as well as a degree from a baptist seminary) this charge is untrue.

Thanks again for visiting our site. Please feel free to refer others to our site (as well as our main biblical theology site: http://learntheology.com)
